The building, located at 55 East 33rd Street, was constructed in the 1920s, remodeled in 1950, and demolished in 1975. Description Photograph of the Arcade Building being demolished, circa 1964. The buildings that eventually became the Armour Research Foundation (ARF) Administration Building were constructed as the Binga State Bank (1924) and Binga Arcade Building (1929) by African-American entrepreneur Jesse Binga. The buildings were purchased by Illinois Institute of Technology in 1952, and ARF took up residence in 1954.… more
