Photograph of Provost Sidney Guralnick presenting the IIT Hall of Fame medal and plaque to Benny Goodman. Goodman attended Lewis Institute in 1923 as a high school sophomore while also playing the clarinet in a dance hall band. The legendary orchestra conductor and jazz musician received an honorary LL.D. degree from IIT in 1968. Photographer unknown. Date listed is approximate.

Photograph of Mollie Cohen, a 1924 graduate of the Lewis Institute, and former professor of English at Lewis and, later, Illinois Institute of Technology. At the time of her retirement in 1965, Cohen initiated the student poetry prize, which is now named in her honor. Laube was not able to publish the song in 1949, but was it was discovered in a music file in 1964 by Illinois Tech music director H.E.
